These last days off, we headed westward towards the Lakes Region of Maine to look at one specific property, but it turned out to be a dud. So we just had some fun driving around all the small towns and running into real estate agencies to grab flyers. We stayed overnight at a budget motel in Augusta, and continued to search on the net that night for more to check out the next day. And there's one with the best location ever...it has all utilities already on it...and the tiny house even has porthole windows, which I love. Too bad Phil couldn't even stand upright in it, and it was kinda saggy and pest infested. I think we'd be looking at total demolition of both the house and the garage, which we're just not too keen on, price wise. We're going to check into whether we'd be able to have an RV on the land, and maybe make an offer. It's surrounded by lakes, and the acreage behind the house is protected, so no one could build there. Heavenly. I doubt the owner will come down as much as we'd like since the location is so great, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
On our way back to the campground, we stopped in Belfast to see the sights. If we win the lottery, I'm gonna buy this:
It's a working boat yard, so that was fun to see, even though it was kinda scary too. The signs basically said "listen to the dock workers or you will die." We stayed out of the way.
Next stop...maybe just staying put here at the campground for Father's Day weekend
